Rosey’s practice is focused on construction and infrastructure projects, and media and entertainment matters. Rosey has advised on construction contracts, power purchase agreements, concession agreements, operation and maintenance agreements and related agreements for construction and infrastructure projects.
EXPERIENCE AND CREDENTIALS
Rosey commenced her career in legal practice at one of the largest law firms in Malaysia. Prior to joining Chooi & Company, Rosey was a legal counsel for one of the largest satellite Pay-TV provider in Malaysia. Rosey joined Chooi & Company as a partner on 4 June 2018.
In the field of infrastructure and projects, Rosey has represented clients in the negotiations and drafting of agreements relating to the development, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of power projects, and also represented clients in contentious matters including a dispute on a power purchase agreement and a dispute arising out of the construction of one of the world’s largest tunnelling projects.
Rosey also has experience in negotiating, drafting and advising on content deals such as licensing, production, acquisition and distribution agreements, investment agreements and collaboration agreements. She is able to advise on advertising, marketing and promotional matters, including areas such as programmatic advertising, regulatory compliance, e-commerce, event management, sponsorships and product placements. On the music industry, she is also able to prepare and negotiate management agreements, recording and publishing agreements and licensing and merchandising agreements.
Rosey graduated with a degree in law from the University of London in 2006 and thereafter obtained the Malaysian Certificate in Legal Practice in 2007. She was admitted as an advocate & solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2008. Thereafter, she completed her masters in law from the George Washington University under the Fulbright Malaysian Graduate Scholarship in 2012.
